Eyonix, i hope you know you probably told alliance ret paladins the one thing that could make them more upset with you than before.
It amounted to them hearing that while you have actually listened to what they are saying, you do not see the (to them) obvious dps gap between races (not classes) as a problem, and have no intention of changing it.
I’m really hoping this is a misunderstanding and that’s not what you meant… Is it?
Quote from: New Patch Notes(Eyonix)
We are aware of the concerns here. There are no immediate plans for changes in this regard. If we do decide to make any change, we’ll let you all know.

The problem I see here is people don’t read between the lines enough. Eyonix might have told them that they aren’t getting seal of blood, however, he did point into the direction where it wasn’t a big deal. So one can draw 2 conclusions.
1. Developers know about Seal of Blood and don’t figure that we need it atm, as our raid spot has nothing to do with our dps and we will be brought even without it.
2. Judgment of blood doesn’t scale either, with them suggestion that we don’t need seal of blood and a transition period this probably suggests that they have plans to change seal of command in the near future and /or are already working on a solution.
Either way it was stated they want to preserve the uniqueness of the factions. One can only hope that 2 is the conclusion they have drawn.

It’s technically not “races” either. I consider it factions. None of the alliance have Seal of Blood, not just one specific race (Not our problem that only one horde race can roll a paladin).
Unless Seal of Blood is a blood elf racial….?
Best case, as Slayton mentioned, fix Seal of Command, since it’s the true “Ret” seal.

I play a ret paladin and I would like nothing more then a buff to Seal of Command I don’t really care if alliance get Seal of Blood but Command should be the best ret seal as it is talented.

I agree, I could care less about geting seal of blood, But Seal of command needs to be fixed. It is the seal we put a point into and should be the #1 ret dps seal.

My guess is this statement implies that Blizzard are working on an all new DPS Seal for WotLK, and so bunging SoB across to Alliance will be unnecessary in the long term and more trouble that it is worth (to them) in the short term. If this is the case, with any luck the new Seal will also address issues to do with scaling, not just with Haste but also AP for Judgements.
Of course this leaves Alliance paladins out in the cold somewhat until Wrath (perhaps Christmas, if we’re lucky?) and demands a modicum of developmental logic from Blizz.
Hrm.. perhaps I’ve assumed too much.

I think everyone’s missing another possibility here. It’s entirely possible that there’s something brand new coming down the pipe for ret paladins that totally invalidates the command vs. blood debate. Thats what happened when warrior gear became ret gear.

Or…..
Maybe Blizzard is going to delete the paladin class after we all reroll DK?

Blizzard could just remove the 30% nerf to Seal of Command from many patches ago. Just a thought.

Maybe I’m just being a noob, but what about Seal of the Martyr. Isn’t that a SoB equivelent for Alliance?
August 4th, 2008 - 12:05 pm
Yea Seal of the Martyr = Alliance Seal of Blood. Concurently, BE pallies will get Seal of Corruption which is the horde version of Seal of Vengeance.
