Today, I’ve finally done something that I should have done ages ago. Many of you know that I’ve been a Rogue for the majority of my career here at Retpaladin.com, and that I recently switched over to Paladin. Though I’ve been Holy for quite some time, I finally took the time to take Ret in a serious way. Granted a piece or two might be missing here and there, today still marks the birth of Miniphone the Ret.

But enough about me. With the events that have passed over the past two weeks, many a Ret (and Paladin) in general has felt utterly neglected and shot down. Not only were two aspects of the class beaten to a pulp without remorse (read : without any warning whatsoever), but we were confronted with the fact that after four years of a somewhat lacking array of tools, Blizzard agrees that the system needs to be overhauled into something new. I’m certainly glad that they’re finally getting around to this myself, but you have to believe me when I say that I’m skeptical of this whole situation. Sounds like they just did far too many mistakes in a row and needed something to toss at us. A bone of you will! A bone made out of tears and anguish.
One dead horse of a topic, I know. Though, there really isn’t much else to chat about these days, other then the fact that a billion people are praying that Blizzard doesn’t utterly drop the ball with this opportunity they’ve lit up here. I know my hopes and dreams will come tumbling down again if they even think about toying with the Ret/Paladin community again. Let’s just pray that they actually want to make money and keep people playing.

Hellow everehbody! Thanks for coming along for another interesting night of streaming. Albiet the majority of you were once again creepers who did nothing but stalk me for my painfully good looks, it’s nice to know that you have 40+ people watching every move that you make once in a while. Sorry for Ustream bugging out in the last ~30 minutes, I really did want to stream miscellaneous content for you all to pass the night away. At least I can actually stream now though! <3. I wouldn’t expect much from the changes. From what I heard Ghostcrawler say, I can only suppose what they give us will be some psuedo-combo point system. I don’t just mean it in a litteral sense, copying the entire concept, but the limiting stuff. Fixing it so you can’t open with burst, you have to set it up first. I guess they also figure that would also us to burst down a healer, but not splatter somebody all over the floor when you get in melee range. They’ll probably reimpliment CS to be like the old one with stacking holy damage, weaken divine storm and give it some other tacky effect and put it back to holy damage.
They’ll water it down and try to stop it being spammable in the first few seconds.

MegaMini uses a maces if I am looking correctly. But give him a break, he just switched ret and working on compiling all the ret knowledge he gives us and learning how to put it into action be to amazing at what he does. I have faith he will be WTFDAIRYQUEENBBQ AMAZING

Once I finish off my honor grind on the Holy set, it’s only a matter of time before I’ll be decked in a rather full set of Furious. Perhaps Ulduar will be rather generous and spare a weapon for me so I can start making PvP videos (since Slayton totally sucks and can’t now!). It’s an idea!

about damn time, dude.
i’m interested to see what they do with ret mechanics moving foward, and i sincerely hope they do not make CS a spammable attack. nothing says failure like a pally with sinister strike. that would be horrible. god damn.
anyway, hopefully they’ll shed some light onto what they are going to do with us soon, because there is only so much speculation i can engage in before i run out of ideas.

I think we all miss Slaytons videos. Anyways I am guessing that something like CS doing a Debuff will be what happens, but I doubt they will change DS. The way I am seeing it is that they are changing the Seal, and judgment system… at least those are the words GC used.
I am really hopeful on this one. I am wanting to see all of those tools come to us that other classes have, and use. A spell interupt, a distance closer, hell maybe even the MS type affect they had on CS a bit back(however I think the while casting part should be removed.). if we don’t see some if not all of these things… ret with out the burst will again be in PvP at least lolret.
I love the class and the spec way to much to see that. I have played pally for a long time… and unless it goes back to LOLret after so long I don’t see myself leaving for a long time.

I remember the LOLret days like some of the paladin players here do. It was a dark time indeed for ret paladins. Some people here have mentioned that the only reason so many players are crying about retadins now is because they use to faceroll them in pvp and pve, and now retadins can actually fight back without having to blow all their freakin cooldowns, so they cry OMG NERF RETS! I agree with these people.
Like mega, I’m also skeptical about the changes blizzard is talking about with rets, but I guess I really have no choice but to wait and see… at least until my game card expires. If rets are still broken, then maybe it is time for me to finally quit wow for good. I’m sick of rerolling back and forth and having to freakin adjust my whole gameplay after every patch overhaul with ret paladin. I rolled a paladin for a reason, and that’s not to be become a damn main healer.
