Retpaladin.com, in it’s efforts to continue to grow and improve to be the #1 resource for Retribution Paladins around the world, has opened it’s doors for a new enthusiastic writer!

Writing for Retpaladin.com is no easy job, and we want to make sure that each and every person that applies is willing to go the extra mile to make this site one of a kind. If you think you have what it takes to join the team please submit your application Via PM to Slayton or Megaphone on the Retpaladin.com message boards.

Ideal writers will;

  • Have a vast understanding and experience as retribution, this includes and is not limited to high level area/raiding.
  • Have a vast understanding of multiple other classes as well.
  • Understanding of PvE fights and why the mechanics are the way they are.
  • Understanding of Blizzards PvP balance and the ability to birds eye view the entire thing without singling out the problems of one class.
  • Decent theorycrafting abilities.

Other skills are also a plus; that includes coding and such, but writers will not be individually selected upon that. They are more like tie breakers.

All applications will be reviewed by both Megaphone and me (Slayton) and we will determine who would be best suited for the job.

Best of luck to all who apply, if you have any questions regarding the application process feel free to email me at;

  4. Anuzaram

Do you accept people submitting articles like a freelancer?

I know I wouldn’t be a great regular writer, but I think I have the knowledge/experience to write useful stuff™, especially in the PvE side of things and I might be able to contribute sporadically.

  5. Dadou

Just make sure the next writer is the real deal this time mkay? :P

Quote = “Understanding of Blizzards PvP balance” -
This made me giggle. I’d love to meet the person that actually does understand Blizz’s mind for PvP balance. Knowing that is like knowing the right answer for when your girlfriend asks “Do I look fat in this?”

Good luck to all those that enter (and if anyone does know the answer to the fat girlfriend question pls let me know)

  7. Theseus

@aleusia, the correct answer to your girlfriend asking “Do i look fat in this?” is to do 1 of the following,

    a) leave the room immediately
    or
    b) pretend to misunderstand the question and reply “yes, you look hot in that”

i personally suggest using option B or you could tell her the truth

  8. Typhron

    And suddenly Typhron.

all praise the white haired humanadin.

  9. bigs

Good luck at finding a new writer.

You dumb? The laster writer did write ret articles.
Who gives a crap who they are.

    @ Frog

just a fyi, the last writer stole blog content from someone else for their blog site, who knows if they were stealing the paladin content from other people also

  12. Frog

How do you “steal paladin content” If somethings correct, and someone says it. Can no one else say it?
I really dont care if they stole photos of a person, or those goofy photos of explosions, and dogs wearing hats.

  13. dg

Frog, cuting and pasting pallie content like PS did does not confer any expertise in the information. The value of a writer is to bring unique personal experience to a subject matter. We had thought PS was that but it was not so. Better to have the real creator of the info present it. You can always say what other people say but at least credit them. Or you will be fooled over and over and over and over. ….. and so on.

  14. Mekaya

    its called plagiarism.

If a professor writes something in his text book word for word from another professor’s text book and does not give proper credit for it, its illegal, and incredibly frowned upon.

essentially, the last writer was taking credit for work that wasn’t her’s. So you can see, its incredibly frowned upon by any point of view (at least i would hope).

  15. Aleusia

Anyone can write “the” facts and formula about paladin. And the same facts and formula will be repeated over and over. I dont agree with palgiarism in any shape or form, if somebody took 2 mins or 2 hours to write a peice with their individual stamp on it, people using it should kudos them if they use it elsewhere.

Anyways, thats makes the retpaladin.com writers so good is the personal twist and the humor that they put in to this information, making it enjoyable to read and easy to find rather than sifting through 300 pages at EJ.

@Theseus - Option 1 saw me sleeping on the couch, option 2 looks favorite from now on.

  16. Frog

Again, correct information is correct, and will be repeated.
Do you really think a person who KNOWS about the game, enough to know what was posted can publish something and get it put on one of the few ret paladin sites without noticing? Obviously it wasnt all cut/paste.

  17. Malkeior

    What’s the deadline?

  18. martana

i gotta say, i love the MS Paint calligraphy you’ve got going on in these recent posts. ;p

i, sadly, am in no way qualified to write for this website, except that i shoot the breeze on game design with iapetes from time to time. that’s the extent of my theorycraft stuff. that and my arena ratings are not bawss. but oh well, hopefully someone will step up to the plate. i just hope they write in an entertaining manner!
