Hey everybody! Sorry about the rather large lack of update on the front page, I’ve been sorting through random things that will be added on to the site soon and the wall of applications we have. Decided that this would be a good time to shout out to all who want a spot on the front page! Please aim me at MkillerH and have a chat with me within ~24 hours if you want to secure your spot as a writer for Retpaladin! I’ve made my decision on who I want to write along with me, just making sure they’re still interested! And making it painfully mysterious and nerve wracking for everybody else.
Rather unfortunately, there hasn’t been a whole lot to talk about nowadays. I have a feeling that I’ve felt before brewing in me though, the calm before the storm. Most of the changes to Ret have been on the PTR for quite some time now, and as most of us know, the backround downloader is now active. Not to say that the patch is coming out extremely soon, but it’s something to add. Topics have been beaten to death over and over again, I’m sure all of us are waiting for the next bone to be thrown at us to keep us in the loop. I know I’m dying over the huge lack of responses from blues regarding Paladins in general. There are so many things that they left untouched - Seal of Justice being the main one. Though the last Q&A was nice to read, there wasn’t nearly enough of the real questions and concerns that we had adressed.
Still waiting Blizzard. - Megaphone

If I hold my breath and die, could my family file a wrongful death suit against Blizzard?

Both SOC and SOV are proccing off special attacks.
July 25th, 2009 - 2:04 pm
Relax, guys. =)

@ uthere
I was just on the PTR and SOV does not proc off anything but auto attack. And the DPS loss is monumental. I pray this is a bug.

I approve of that 2nd picture there. Troll smashing is fun.
July 26th, 2009 - 10:44 am
Don’t get your hopes up. SoV damage was far too high in PvP. It reeks of a stealth nerf to me.
July 26th, 2009 - 12:54 pm
What? Trolls are the best class in the game, and I for one find that picture to be mean:P Now if they would just make it so I can have my troll pally, I will take any nerfs they wana give me.
July 26th, 2009 - 1:04 pm
That must be the Relentless Gladiator’s Mace that pally is using, Because it is just so OP looking
July 27th, 2009 - 5:25 am
Why the heck are you hitting that poor troll?
Be a little horde-nice
July 27th, 2009 - 7:54 am
Trolls need to be able to roll pallys imo

Patch notes have been updated to reflect this change as intended. It is NOT a bug, I repeat IT IS NOT A BUG.

Update: 07.27 1:15 PM PDT
* Paladins section updated: Seal of Vengeance and Seal of Corruption
Seal of Vengeance and Seal of Corruption: These seals have been redesigned to deal substantially more damage. Now, once a paladin has 5 copies of the debuff from these seals on his or her target, on each swing the paladin will deal 33% weapon damage as Holy, with critical strikes dealing double damage. In addition, the damage-over-time effect is now considered a melee attack instead of a spell attack and the effects from these seals can only be triggered by auto-attacks and Hammer of the Righteous.

Apparently the change was intended. The PTR patch notes were updated in the Sticky on the PTR forums. This is most unfortunate.

it not a bug, it is real:

scroll down to the middle.

Yep. Change intended. People are 300-400 DPS loss single target, and much larger AoE damage decreases on the PTR.
Back the to bottom of the barrel, I guess.
