Oh yay, goodies!

November 28th, 2009

Since we’re all in the mood for shinies since yesterday, I’ve decided to hold a small little contest for kicks and giggles to make our slaves here at Retpaladin work hard. The fury of 3.3 isn’t going to be coming out for at least another month, and we all know how I hate a blank front page for an extended amount of time!

This contest will be for a Retpaladin oriented T-shirt. The top shirts submitted to us will be posted up for voting, and the winner will receive their name bathed in glory as anybody who wants to buy their shirt will know who designed it (as well as having their name etched into the shirt itself). And as an added bonus, we’re going to toss in one Path of Cenarius loot card, since it’s just that awesome to have as a Paladin.

Submissions will end December 9th at 0:01 AM PST. Voting will begin promptly after, and your design and glory will be saved for one of the many behind-the-scenes Retpaladin projects. Should you have any questions, feel free to PM Tharvolde or myself. To submit your design, just make sure that it reaches our hands via forum PM and that we confirm got it. More details in the comments to this post! Also, a quick reminder to all, retpaladin.com MUST be featured somewhere on the design.

Consider the contest started!

    Ok coupl’a questions.

What is the preferred resolution and file type for the submissions?
Are we restricted to a certain number of colors for the final design (1, 2, 3 color process, etc)?
What color T-shirt is going to be used?
    Can we make multiple submissions?

Sorry I’m a graphic design student i tend to over think these things and get a little OCD.

    Fantastic that you ask.

I would like the shirt to be restricted to 4 colors max. The T-Shirt color can be anything that compliments your design. JPG works as the file type.

    “Your design is will be fitted within a max area of * horizontal: 2100 x 1800 pixels = 14″ x 12″ * vertical: 1800 x 2100 pixels = 12″ x 14″. It should not cover the sleeves or the seams.”

A decent guide would to follow would be here : http://www.zazzle.com/mk/custom/guidefiles.

Oh and, by all means, multiple submissions would be great!

Ok sweet thanks. A new and exciting way to procrastinate and not do the mountain of homework that’s managed to accrue upon my desk.

I had one more question though. Do we need to have the URL of the site incorporated into the design and if so can we print on both sides of the shirt (i.e design on the front and the “www.retpaladin.com” across the back).

    Last question i promise… maybe :P

what if i want a cooler card that doesnt make pansy flowers spawn wherever my godly feet step, maybe i want a Spectral tiger mount or a Giant Rooster to straddle?? (that joke is for gutter minded)

Yes, the URL definitely needs to be there. Or at least “ret” and “paladin” munched together. Front/Back design shirts to cost extra, so you either need to be extremely cocky and have a mind blowing design to go with it, or not know how to be cost effective!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/HeavyGear/eagle.jpg is a good example and is probably going to be on one of our shirts.

THE GLORY OF YOUR NAME EVERYWHERE SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU WANT TO SLAVE OVER DESIGNS.
