Yay!
Normal mode ICC was cleared last week - and even though we’re in our first week of Heroic ICC, it has already been spanked up and down the block making what I label as “pathetic” (or a “Fandanglery” if you prefer) attempt at making the bosses more challenging. Though, Blizzard has seem to at least nail the correct difficulty for what a final boss should be, though I’m very interested in the thoughts of top end guilds who’ve completed Yogg +0 prenerf (by guilds, I mean guild!) when comparing the two encounters.
Overall, Icecrown definitely wasn’t a disappointment. As thick as my sarcasm might be, the hardcore 24/7 raiders still have difficult content that they should have take a little bit of pride in after defeating. All eyes are on LK-H 25 at the moment, and it would be a terrible terrible thing if we see the news this Tuesday on MMO-Champion that our best friend Arthas is dead after finally achieving SSJ2. It is just as you all expect, will he be the Trunks that did nothing but make his muscles grow and look fancy, or the prodigy Gohan that perfects his powers and is still useless when future arcs come around? Only time will tell.
I’m also very curious to see what top PvERetadins that have done heroic encounters so far, especially LK.
What rotation is right for me!
One of our most active forum-goers Requital recently posted a little gem that I thought might help both the experienced and inexperienced Retributers find their most optimal priority with FCFS. Though Rawr isn’t anything new (especially around these parts), this mini-guide is extremely helpful if you don’t know or are just plain curious to what you should be using. You can find a link to it right on our forums! : http://www.retpaladin.com/warcraft/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4152

Isn’t “Hardmoad” raids the true raiding content?

It is, but it’s kind of cleared by most top end guilds already! (Except for Arthas)

Yeah, I was kind of hoping ICC would turn out like Ulduar did; a decent amount of time per boss, then a big rooster block like firefighter, then a massive one like Yogg+0. I guess we’re only getting Yogg+0 this time (and by the looks of it, it will likely be down within the next 2 weeks).
Nice DBZ analogy too, Megaphone

Ulduar was the pinnacle of raiding in WotLK. Furthermore, I think they should model nearly all their raids after many Ulduar mechanics…
- Hard modes that involved activation in the fight
- Hard modes that completely changed the fight(see IC, Firefighter, Freya 3 trees)
- Hard modes that were tiered in difficulty. Some easy, others ridiculously hard
- Interactive fights that involved mechanics other than tank-and-spank for half the raid.
- Only one boss with limited time instead of attempts. This made pulls faster instead of drawing out raid times.
ICC is, in my opinion, a failure. If we hadn’t had Ulduar at all, I would say ICC is awesome. However, since Ulduar was a near-perfect instance, in my opinion, ICC doesn’t cut it for me.

Is this the megaphone from Drak’Thul lvl circa ~2005?

Guess it’s just as well the site is focussing on pve - being that ret is total ass in pvp at the moment.

I wouldn’t say that.
Things are moving along in PvE, with content updates, hard modes released, etc. Nothing groundbreaking has happened in PvP since the start of Season 8, so there’s nothing to really write about.

Indeed, there is a constant stream of news coming from PvE right now, compared to the still relatively new over-covered PvPness.
Not giving up on PvP, it’s always nice to have a mix of both topics!
