Hail
Tharvolde here and it appears as though a new build has been deployed to Beta as of late last night. Could this be the build with the new round of sweeping Paladin changes GC has been alluding to? Perhaps but for the time being the following information has already been procured (I will only be considering max rank of the talent updates as I don’t have direct access to beta yet):
- 1] Relic slot items are now more similar to any other slot in that they can have stats and sockets in but what’s left to be seen is whether they will retain special effects. For example, not the Libram of Three Truths that, as of today, stack Strength each time you use Crusader Strike:

- 2] The Holy Power interface is in and looks, I must say, rather cool:

- 3] Eye for an Eye reworked: Now makes all magic attacks against you have a 40% chance to cause 30% of the damage back to the caster
- 4] Crusade reworked: Increases the effectiveness of your CS, HotR, TV and Holy Shock by 30%
- 5] Improved Judgement reworked: Increases the range of your Judgement by 20 yards
- 6] Eternal Glory (new talent): Gives your Word of Glory a 40% chance to not consume Holy Power
- 7] Communion reworked: Your auras increase party and raid damage by 3% and your damage by an additional 2%. In addition, your Judgement grants Replenishment.
- 8] Art of War reworked: Increases the damage by 60% and the critical strike damage by 100% of Exorcism. In addition, your melee attacks have a 30% chance to reduce the cast time of your next Exorcism by 100%. This effect cannot be triggered while Exorcism is on cooldown.
- 9] Long Arm of Justice (new talent): Your Judgement has a 100% chance to increase your movement speed by 30% for 4 seconds when used on targets at or beyond 15 yards. GAP CLOSER
- 10] Improved Crusader Strike replaced with Sanctity of Battle (NYI): Haste effects lower the cooldown of CS.
- 11] Divine Purpose reworked: Judgement, Exo, TV, DS, Inquisition and Holy Wrath all have a 40% chance to generate Holy Power
- 12] Inquiry of Faith reworked: Increases the periodic damage done by your Seal of Truth by 30% and the duration of your Inquisition by 150%
And, not exactly Paladin-related, I thought I would point out that the Guild Vendor available to any member of a guild has mounts available for purchase and, in particular, the flying mount is, well, awesome to say the least:
First of all, a big thanks goes out to Wynndor of our own RetPaladin.com forums for a great deal of this information. I will be updating this post as new changes are revealed (which they will be throughout the day and into tomorrow). Expect at least a few small Paladin changes but, if we are lucky, we might be afforded a laundry list of adjustments.
Swing ‘em hard!

PS: If you recently submitted a comment to the site that contained a link either in the header information or within the comment text itself, there is a good chance it was marked as spam and thus deleted. I apologize for this but I came back from a bit of a hiatus (SC II is rather fun) and found us having roughly 2000 comments marked as spam. Going through each and every one of these would take upwards of a couple hours so I did a bulk removal to bring us back to a clean slate. My apologies if your comment was deleted!
*** UPDATE 8/17/10 @ 8:08PM EST ***
- Blizzard has confirmed that Long Arm of Justice stacks additively with Pursuit of Justice meaning that successfully judging a target 15 or more yards away can result in you moving at a speed of 145% and not just 130% (as the Pursuit of Justice talent does state that it does not stack with any other movement increasing effects). Blizzard also stated that they consider 30% movement speed increase from LaoJ to be on the conservative side which is why they are allowing it to stack with PoJ. They may, in the future, remove the ability for the two to stack but increase the effect of LaoJ.

Nono, I mean there were like 9 comments and they disappeared.
Anyways, these changes have convinced me to stick with my loladin instead of my mage.

I’m not sure where the comments went. I haven’t touched the comments within the last week. I’m looking into it now.

It looks like “The Admin” ™ decided to upgrade to the latest WordPress version either last night or this morning. I’m willing to bet that is part of the reason why the comments disappeared.

LAoJ sounds cool. would be better if it removed snares too. but that might be asking to much and slightly op.
and am i reading this right? art of war only increases the damage of exorcism as compared to now increasing judgments, CS, DS by 10%?

•Pursuit of Justice additional effect – You have a 50/100% chance to gain a charge of Holy Power when struck by a Stun, Fear or Immobilize effect.!!

That’s nice and all, but I’d take anything in this latest “phantom build” with a grain of salt.
I’m certainly not liking Conviction at T5 Holy. I always saw that as signature Retribution.
